In order to maximise the results of your Dermatech Micro-Needling treatment and prevent damage to your skin, it is important to follow the following advice:

Please note this treatment is not suitable if you have any of the following conditions:
  • Open wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis, inflammatory rosacea or active acne in the area to be treated

  • A history of allergies, rashes or other skin reactions, or may be sensitive to infection

  • Active cold sores/herpes simplex

  • Taken Isotetinoin (Roaccutane) within the past year

  • A history of skin cancer, or received chemotherapy/radiation therapy in the last year

  • Heart conditions, blood disorders or taking anti-coagulants

  • Pregnant or breast feeding (lactating)

Four weeks before your treatment stop using the following products and procedures:
  • Botox or fillers (4 weeks before)

  • Waxing or Electrolysis (2 weeks before)

  • Exfoliators that may be dry or irritating (1 week before)

  • Products with Retinol, AHAs, BHAs or Benzyl Peroxide (1 week before)

  • Sunbeds or sunbathing (2 weeks before)

  • Depilatory Creams (2 weeks before)

  • Self-immune topical treatments (24 hours before)

  • Treatments that produce skin hypersensitivity (4 weeks before)

After your treatment it is common to experience tightness and reddening (similar to mild sunburn) Slight itching or peeling of the skin. These symptoms should disappear after 2-5 days. It is essential to follow these guidelines in order to protect your skin and maximise regeneration:
  • For 48 hours after - Avoid using products containing alcohol, Retinol, AHAs or BHAs

  • For 12 hours after - Avoid applying makeup

  • For 7 days after - Avoid direct sunlight or using an exfoliator

  • For 24 hours after - Avoid intense physical excercise

  • For 2 weeks after - Do not have another aggressive treatment (Hands on facials can be carried out one week later)
